Of course you don't need to join Bon Air Baptist to attend Bon Air Baptist. We want you to visit and worship with us and enjoy our fellowship, facilities, and programs until you are ready to make that decision.
We believe the most important decision that anyone can make is the decision to become a follower of Jesus. That decision involves the willingness to turn from what is wrong in our lives to God for forgiveness, to surrender our desires to God’s desires, and to trust Jesus completely for this life and the life to come. Once a person has had such a conversion experience, it is important that he or she become involved in a church family.
If a person is coming to faith in Jesus for the first time, then joining Bon Air Baptist Church requires that he or she be baptized. Baptism is also a requirement for membership for anyone who has not been baptized by immersion as a believer. If you are simply coming to Bon Air Baptist from another Baptist family, we call that “moving your letter of membership,” and we can facilitate that. If you have been baptized as a believer by immersion, and you are coming from a church tradition other than Baptist, then you join by “statement of your faith.” (However one joins, membership is the same.)
We invite people making any of the above decisions to come forward near the conclusion of our Sunday worship services so that we may celebrate that decision with our new family members.
Some of this might be confusing to you, and if so, please contact us so that we may sit down with you and help you understand these important spiritual decisions.
