Woman's Missionary Union (WMU)

Our Mission
The Woman’s Missionary Union was founded in 1888 to equip adults, youth, children, and preschoolers with missions education to become radically involved in the mission of God. While the WMU focuses on programs for women, girls, and preschool children, it is a church wide organization that helps to involve all members in missions activities.

At Bon Air, the WMU provides missions education and missions opportunities to all members. English as a Second Language (ESL), Women on Mission, Youth on Mission, Girls in Action and Royal Ambassadors (GAs and RAs), and Mission Friends are just a few of the organizations supported by the WMU. There is a place for you in WMU!

Mission Opportunities
BACKPACK DRIVE: Once again this year, Bon Air is participating in the RBA's drive to gather backpacks and school materials for area school children. The packs will be given away at the Richmond Baptist Centers. Donations will be collected in the church lobby through August 10. Contact Barbara Swann at 272-5150 or swann9@juno.com or click here for complete list of items needed.

HEARTBEATS FROM HOME: This new ministry seeks to provide comfort and care items to the left-at-home loved ones of deployed military personnel. This will be an on-going ministry and the first delivery of care bags has already been made to McChord Air Force Base. Beth Stuhlman, who leads the group, is the daughter of a career Chaplain in the Armed Services. Opportunities to participate in this ministry include card making, sewing the small (& simple!) cloth bags, and collecting and wrapping items. Beth is also looking for individuals who will serve as contact corrdinators to the various bases. Donations are being collected in the blue tote located in the church lobby.
